Taraiu began with one mission — to revive India’s forgotten heritage grains, starting with the ancient GI-tagged Kala Namak Rice.
Gautam led this revival from the ground—literally. He spent months travelling between Noida and the villages of the Tarai, staying with farmers, understanding their challenges, and convincing them to grow Kala Namak Rice again. The long travel, the uncertainty, and the effort to rebuild trust were tough, but essential.
While Gautam worked in the fields, Shruti built the foundation of the brand. She brought structure, clarity, and purpose — shaping Taraiu into a name that stands for honesty, purity, and meaningful food.
Together, they created Taraiu not just as a business, but as a movement to support farmers, protect heritage crops, and bring truly authentic, clean food to every home.
